Assertiveness isn’t just about getting your way, it’s about being confident and speaking in a way that enables each member of a team to feel respected and valued, while efficiently delegating tasks, sharing ideas, and making the right decisions.

It’s about getting stuff done.

Aim:

To develop participants self-confidence, and improve their diplomacy, delegation, and negotiation skills.

Purpose:

That teams within an organisation will develop a rapport to work together efficiently, while respecting each other’s input, moving smoothly towards common goals.

Workshop Format:

A full-day session lasting 6 hours (with breaks) for teams, team leaders and managers within an organisation.

Method:

Participants will engage in speaking and leadership games to develop confidence; ice-breakers and group bonding activities to develop their interpersonal skills.

They’ll create a set of common goals, learn delegation strategies and participate in Boal style roleplaying activities to develop a intuitive sense of assertiveness, armed with a variety of feedback styles and delegation techniques.

  • Leadership activities - Group puzzles, public speaking and motivation
  • Goal sharing
  • Brainstorming techniques – Including “Yes, and…”, mind-maps that aren’t just silly pictures, and groupthink problem solving techniques
  • The feedback model - Giving and receiving useful feedback
  • Operating within a command structure - While remaining flexible
  • Leadership - Motivating people so they want to follow
  • Role-playing games – To practice the new skills
