Ensure that the things which trigger your confidence are within your control.

We are all confident when discussing a topic we know well, or among family members and close friends; but there’s no point perpetually waiting for a small friendly gathering, a favourable topic of discussion and a few glasses of alcohol! This workshop will help you figure out what makes you feel comfortable, so you can decide when you’d like to feel confident.

Aim:

Develop participants’ ability to create a self-sustaining pattern of confidence.

Method:

Find each participants’ triggers for confidence, expand them to encompass other areas of life; and develop participants’ ability to recognise and adopt a confident posture, efficient breathing and effective speech.

Duration:

These workshops are either one-day or two-day sessions.

Areas covered:

  • Posture: How posture will encourage feelings of confidence (with exercises and reference to research)
  • Breathing: To retrain the diaphragm for stomach breathing, including the science behind breathing well, followed by exercises to retrain the respiratory system.
  • Voice: Work on projection, clarity and pitch to allow participants to ‘find their voice’ – for authority, persuasion and flair.
  • Speech: Develop workshop participants ability to talk to groups of people, to structure their language, develop rapport with an audience and order their thoughts and think on their feet (while breathing well, standing confidently and using their voice effectively).
  • Taking it forward: Workshop ways that participants can make sure that the skills they learn within the workshop are sustained once they re-enter their ordinary life.
