NLP in Australia

Fernleigh, it’s bloody beautiful.

Sue and I will be hosting an NLP intensive course at Fernleigh and it is going to be an incredible event.

I always struggle to describe Fernleigh – because I honestly feel that it may be the most amazing place on earth. It is my family property, a working sheep and cattle station that sprawls over a large area of Australia’s Upper Hunter Valley (you’ve probably sipped wine from grapes that were grown by our neighbours).

It is mountainous, rich and fertile – the grassy hillsides are spotted our dozy lowing cows and perpetually confused sheep. If you wander around, you might surprise an echidna (like a hedgehog), spot a kangaroo that grazes or a snake as it lazes in the sun.

Built among this amazing, thrumming ecosystem, in that fertile bosom; my family has carved out a little paradise – with gorgeous gardens, luxurious guest rooms and some amazing facilities for learning and development.

This is where the magic happens.

Luxury RoomsLuxury rooms:

Exquisitely decorated with artwork, with queen-sized beds, egyptian cotton and clean ensuites – these rooms really are luxurious. Some are situated around the hall, where most of the sessions take place, and the others we cheekily refer to as the Fernleigh hilton.

Basic rooms:

These rooms are quaint and situated within a short walk from the hall. These rooms have either one or two single beds and have a shared bathroom.

For all the rooms catering of breakfast, lunch and dinner is included, which is lovingly prepared (often from ingredients grown on Fernleigh’s vegetable patch) and served in the dining room.

What is NLP?

From SueKnight.com:

NLP is a process of discovering the structure of the thinking and abilities that we and others have (especially those of excellence) in order to reproduce the results that we want with consistency.

You will get many different things under the banner of NLP which is why it is important to know the values and the principles of the person that you choose to be your coach in this subject.

Which of these things have you done well today?

  • Woken up on time?
  • Left someone you work with in a good frame of mind having spoken to you?
  • Explained something to someone else in a way that they understood?
  • Moved a bit further forwards in achieving your goals or even totally achieved some?
  • Successfully handled a telephone call?
  • Inspired someone to do something they have not done before?
  • Given feedback in a way that was received positively?
  • Learned something unexpectedly?
  • Successfully negotiated a potential conflict either at work or at home?
  • Made a new acquaintance with whom you look forward to having future contact?
